Participation in the TREG® , an event in an unusual and extreme environment, requires, in addition to appropriate training, good health at the time of your participation.
MEDICAL FORMALITIES
A medical certificate less than one year old is required for all runners as well as an ECG (Electrocardiogram) or an effort test according to the following rules:
- ECG less than two years old (for all runners under 40 years old and for all local runners, whatever their age) for the 54km race and stages race
- Exercise test less than two years old for all runners or hikers over 40 years old registered for the 90km and 180km races and stages race.
The medical certificate and the ECG (Electrocardiogram) must be sent to Isabelle PAUCOT, no later than 31 December 2024, by email to i.paucot at le-treg.com
In addition, the hikers will have to bring in their luggage the originals, or a COMPLETE copy of the documents: ECG - stress test - to present at the individual medical briefing.
It is important that you start the TREG® events in perfect physical condition, as a latent illness can worsen dramatically in the extreme conditions of the event and make rescue even more difficult.
OTHER FORMALITIES
Some other formalities will be necessary to participate in the TREG® adventure
VISAS:
You will need a tourist visa to travel to Chad.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date and have at least 2 completely blank pages. It will cost you 70€.
As we are close to the Chadian embassy, we can arrange for your visa to be issued.
VACCINES:
You will need to have a yellow fever vaccination, which must be recorded in your yellow vaccination card.
Another vaccination that is strongly recommended is DTP (diphtheria, tetanus and polio).
Although there is no risk of malaria in Ennedi, you may wish to take preventive treatment against malaria (ask your doctor to prescribe Doxycycline, which is much better tolerated by runners than Malarone).
